Need for Speed: The Run 2011

Need for Speed The Run
Need for Speed: The Run is an upcoming racing video game in the Need for Speed franchise developed by EA Black Box and published by Electronic Arts. It is scheduled for release on November 15, 2011. Need for Speed: The Run launches on 3DS, PC, PlayStation 3, Wii and Xbox 360 in North America on 15th November, in Europe on 18th November, and in the UK on 18th November.

Need for Speed The Run
Since the release of Undercover, Black Box has been working on another entry to the franchise, presumably continuing the action focused street-racing gameplay of Black Box's previous titles. This game has an extended development window to give the developers a chance to create a game that "could really blow the doors off the category". It is confirmed that the game will feature a fictional storyline and characters. The focus reverts to the world of underground racing, set against the backdrop of a high-speed race across the US from San Francisco to New York.

Wii 2, Wii HD, Nintendo Stream Release Date

Wii 2, Wii HD, Nintendo Release Date
Project Café (colloquially referred to as Wii 2, Wii HD, or Nintendo Stream) is the codename for Nintendo's upcoming video game consoleand successor to the Wii. The system will be released in 2012 and will be demonstrated in playable form at the Electronics Entertainment Expo 2011, where the system's specifications will be announced.

In April 2011, an unnamed source indicated that Nintendo was planning on unveiling the successor to the Wii during E3 2011, that would be capable of running in HD resolutionsand will be backward compatible with Wii software. It was also rumored that the console would feature an all new controller with a built in high-resolution screen.

The origin of the rumor for the codename (and many other details) was French technology publication 01net. 01net had previously revealed the technical specifications of Sony's Next Generation Portable before it was announced. Claims have been made that the new machine is significantly more powerful than the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. It is likely that the new console will feature resolutions as high as 1080p. However, many sources doubt that it will feature 3D graphics like Nintendo's latest handheld, the Nintendo 3DS. 01net also claims to know some of the technical specifications of the new console (translation from Develop): "CPU is custom IBM PowerPC with three cores, GPU should be an ATI from theR700 family, with a shader unit at version 4.1. RAM should be at least 512 MB."

NTC Volume Based ADSL Service

If you are looking for high speed internet but your access time is couple of hours per day only, your search ends with the launch of Nepal Telecom Volume based ADSL Internet Service.

Volume based ADSL means the customer will be provided with fixed usage limit of respective bytes with a fixed validity period according to the plan chosen. The service will be expired when the usage limit is exceeded or the validity period is ended, whichever is earlier.

An example of the plan is as follows -
Volume Plan - 9GB - 3 Months - 512Kbps

It means the customer will be getting 6 Gigabyte (6442450944 bytes) total data volume and that volume will be valid for 3 months. If this 6GB volume is used up before the expiration date, then the service will be out of balance and hence will get barred. However, the service can be renewed for continuation.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2011

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2011
Microsoft Flight Simulator 2011
Microsoft Flight is the title of a new flight simulation application from Microsoft announced in August 2010, intended to replace the long running discontinued Microsoft Flight Simulator franchise that has existed for more than 28 years. In January, Microsoft announced it would be compatible with Windows Vista, Windows Server and Windows 7.

Microsoft Flight Simulator began as a set of articles on computer graphics, written by Bruce Artwick throughout 1976, about flight simulation using 3-D graphics. When the editor of the magazine told Artwick that subscribers were interested in purchasing such a program, Artwick founded subLOGIC Corporation to commercialize his ideas. At first the new company sold flight simulators through mail order, but that changed in January 1980 with the release of Flight Simulator (FS) for the Apple II. They soon followed this up with versions for other systems and from there it evolved into a long-running series of computer flight simulators.

iPad 2

iPad 2
iPad 2
Apple unveiled the iPad 2, the second generation of the device, at a March 2, 2011, press conference. About 33% thinner than its predecessor, the iPad 2 has a better processor, a dual core Apple A5 that Apple says is twice as fast as its predecessor for CPU operations and up to nine times as fast for GPU operations. It retains the original's 10-hour battery life and has a similar pricing scheme. While prices were kept the same in the United States, the iPad 2 sold for less in other countries such as the United Kingdom.

The iPad's touchscreen display is a 9.7 in (25 cm) liquid crystal display (1024 × 768 pixels) with fingerprint-resistant and scratch-resistant glass. Steve Jobs backed the choice of screen size, saying a 7-inch screen would be "too small to express the software." He said 10 inches was the minimum for a tablet screen. Like the iPhone, the iPad is designed to be controlled by bare fingers; normal gloves and styli that prevent electrical conductivity may not be used, although there are special gloves and capacitive styli designed for this use.

Apple is collecting location data from iPhone, iPad

Apple Inc.'s iPhone and iPad periodically send location information back to the company, according to new reports. The data is transmitted to a secure database that only it can access, Apple claims.

Bruce Sewell, an attorney for Apple, sent a letter to two US Representatives last year, discussing the company's data collection techniques and policies. The thirteen-page letter states that location information is recorded and sent to Apple every twelve hours, but only if the user enables the device's location settings.

Apple began building a location database of its own when it decided to stop using similar services offered by Google & SkyHook Wireless. Location data is used in social networking applications and call routing.

Some Very Funny Pictures... LOL

Backpropagation algorithm

Backpropagation is a common method of teaching artificial neural networks how to perform a given task. It was first described by Arthur E. Bryson and Yu-Chi Ho in 1969, but it wasn't until 1974 and later, through the work of Paul Werbos., David E. Rumelhart, Geoffrey E. Hinton and Ronald J. Williams, that it gained recognition, and it led to a “renaissance” in the field of artificial neural network research.

It is a supervised learning method, and is a generalization of the delta rule. It requires a teacher that knows, or can calculate, the desired output for any input in the training set. It is most useful for feed-forward networks (networks that have no feedback, or simply, that have no connections that loop). The term is an abbreviation for "backward propagation of errors". Backpropagation requires that the activation function used by the artificial neurons (or "nodes") be differentiable.

nasa ranger 4
NASA's Ranger 4
Ranger 4 was a spacecraft of the Ranger program designed to transmit pictures of the lunar surface to Earth stations during a period of 10 minutes of flight prior to crashing upon the Moon, to rough-land a seismometer capsule on the Moon, to collectgamma-ray data in flight, to study radar reflectivity of the lunar surface, and to continue testing of the Ranger program for development of lunar and interplanetary spacecraft. An onboard computer failure caused failure of the deployment of the solar panels and navigation systems; as a result the spacecraft crashed on the far side of the Moon without returning any scientific data.

Oklahoma City bombing 16th Anniversary

oklahoma city bombing
An aerial view, looking from the north, of the destruction
The Oklahoma City bombing was a bomb attack on the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in downtown Oklahoma City on April 19, 1995. It was the most destructive act of terrorism on American soil until the September 11, 2001 attacks. The Oklahoma blast claimed 168 lives, including 19 children under the age of 6, and injured more than 680 people. The blast destroyed or damaged 324 buildings within a sixteen-block radius, destroyed or burned 86 cars, and shattered glass in 258 nearby buildings. The bomb was estimated to have caused at least $652 million worth of damage. Extensive rescue efforts were undertaken by local, state, federal, and worldwide agencies in the wake of the bombing, and substantial donations were received from across the country. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) activated eleven of its Urban Search and Rescue Task Forces, consisting of 665 rescue workers who assisted in rescue and recovery operations.

oklahoma city bombingWithin 90 minutes of the explosion, Timothy McVeigh was stopped by Oklahoma State Trooper Charlie Hanger for driving without a license plate and arrested for unlawfully carrying a weapon. Forensic evidence quickly linked McVeigh and Terry Nichols to the attack; Nichols was arrested, and within days both were charged. Michael and Lori Fortier were later identified as accomplices. McVeigh, an Americanmilitia movement sympathizer, had detonated an explosive-filled truck parked in front of the building. McVeigh's co-conspirator, Terry Nichols, had assisted in the bomb preparation. Motivated by his hatred of the federal government and angered by what he perceived as its mishandling of the Waco Siege (1993) and the Ruby Ridge incident (1992), McVeigh timed his attack to coincide with the second anniversary of the deadly fire that ended the siege at Waco.

What do Search Engines Want? What do they find pleasant?

Basically search engines will want a website with the following theme in its index

  • Original and unique content of genuine value.
  • Pages designed primarily for humans, with search engine considerations a secondary concern.
  • Hyperlinks intended to help people find interesting, related content, when applicable.
  • Metadata (including title and description) that accurately describes the contents of a web page.
  • Good web design in general.

Webmaster Guidelines: The most important one- (Quality Guideline)

Here are the things that you should consider for making your website upto the Google's quality expectations:

  • Make pages primarily for users, not for search engines. Don't deceive your users or present different content to search engines than you display to users, which is commonly referred to as "cloaking."
  • Avoid tricks intended to improve search engine rankings. A good rule of thumb is whether you'd feel comfortable explaining what you've done to a website that competes with you. Another useful test is to ask, "Does this help my users? Would I do this if search engines didn't exist?"
  • Don't participate in link schemes designed to increase your site's ranking or PageRank. In particular, avoid links to web spammers or "bad neighborhoods" on the web, as your own ranking may be affected adversely by those links.
  • Don't use unauthorized computer programs to submit pages, check rankings, etc.

What is Keyword Stuffing?

Keyword stuffing is considered to be an unethical search engine optimization (SEO) technique. Keyword stuffing occurs when a web page is loaded with keywords in the meta tags or in content. The repetition of words in meta tags may explain why many search engines no longer use these tags.

Keyword stuffing had been used in the past to obtain maximum search engine ranking and visibility for particular phrases. This method is completely outdated and adds no value to rankings today. In particular, Google no longer gives good rankings to pages employing this technique.

Hiding text from the visitor is done in many different ways. Text colored to blend with the background, CSS "Z" positioning to place text "behind" an image — and therefore out of view of the visitor — and CSS absolute positioning to have the text positioned far from the page center are all common techniques. By 2005, many invisible text techniques were easily detected by major search engines.

Spam! How to avoid them?

Spam is the use of electronic messaging systems (including most broadcast media, digital delivery systems) to send unsolicited bulk messages indiscriminately. While the most widely recognized form of spam is e-mail spam, the term is applied to similar abuses in other media: instant messaging spam, Usenet newsgroup spam, Web search engine spam, spam in blogs, wiki spam, online classified ads spam, mobile phone messaging spam, Internet forum spam, junk fax transmissions, social networking spam, television advertising and file sharing network spam.

Spamming remains economically viable because advertisers have no operating costs beyond the management of their mailing lists, and it is difficult to hold senders accountable for their mass mailings. Because the barrier to entry is so low, spammers are numerous, and the volume of unsolicited mail has become very high. In the year 2011, the estimated figure for spam messages is around seven trillion. The costs, such as lost productivity and fraud, are borne by the public and by Internet service providers, which have been forced to add extra capacity to cope with the deluge. Spamming has been the subject of legislation in many jurisdictions.

Spam in blogs (also called simply blog spam or comment spam is a form of spamdexing. (Note that blogspam has another, more common meaning, namely the post of a blogger who creates no-value-added posts to submit them to other sites.) It is done by automatically posting random comments or promoting commercial services to blogs, wikis, guestbooks, or other publicly accessible online discussion boards. Any web application that accepts and displays hyperlinks submitted by visitors may be a target.

Adding links that point to the spammer's web site artificially increases the site's search engine ranking. An increased ranking often results in the spammer's commercial site being listed ahead of other sites for certain searches, increasing the number of potential visitors and paying customers.

Facial recognition system or Face recognition system

A facial recognition system is a computer application for automatically identifying or verifying a person from a digital image or a video frame from a video source. One of the ways to do this is by comparing selected facial features from the image and a facial database.

It is typically used in security systems and can be compared to other biometrics such as fingerprint or eye iris recognition systems.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Release Date

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is an upcoming first-person shooter video game set to be released in November 2011. It will be the eighth installment in the Call of Duty series. Due to a legal dispute between the game's publisher Activision and the former co-executives of Infinity Ward - which caused several lay-offs and departures within the company - Sledgehammer Games will assist in the development of the singleplayer, and Raven Software will develop the multiplayer. The game is said to have been in development since only two weeks after the release of their previous game, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Sledgehammer is aiming for a "bug free" first outing in the Call of Duty franchise, which also sets a goal for Metacritic review scores above 95 percent.
