How To Set Up Dreamweaver To Work With PHP

In this article I'll show you how to setup Dreamweaver CS5 to work with PHP.
Ok lets get started.

Step 1: Launch Dreamweaver. It should look something like this.

Step 2: Goto Site->New Site from the menu and enter your site name and site folder. Make sure the folder is in 'C:\wamp\www\' folder if you have installed WAMP in C drive.

Step 3: Goto Servers tab and enter the details as shown below.
Server name = localhost
Connect using = Local/Network
Server Folder = C:\wamp\www\myfirstphp
Web URL = http://localhost/myfirstphp

Step 4: Goto Advanced tab and choose Server Model as PHP MySQL and click Save.

Step 5: Finally make sure that you have checked 'Testing' option to make sure the server that we just setup is a testing server. Then click Save and you are done.

This is done for your convenience while working in a project and will greatly help managing and organising the files and folders.

After completing these steps you are now ready to start coding in PHP.
